About Me

I’m a stepmom to three stepdaughters, a mom to a daughter and a son now in heaven, and a proud nana to one grandson we adopted as a baby. Altogether my husband and I have 12 grandchildren with 1 more on the way. Needless to say, we are a large and boisterous family, and since we are all spread out across the country, we wholeheartedly enjoy those rare times when we are all together.

My son TJ died in February of 2018 at the age of 21 after a 5-year battle with a brain injury he received during a heart surgery to repair a newly-diagnosed heart defect. Throughout the course of his illness, the Lord was with me and showed me countless evidences that He was near as He lovingly carried me through my son’s sometimes unimaginable suffering. TJ’s brain injury and eventual death left a hole in my life that will never be filled this side of heaven, but in my pursuit of God, I found comfort in the blessings of God and discovered that His grace really is enough.

During my son’s illness, an undiscovered love for writing was also birthed through the pages of a Caring Bridge journal that spanned more than five years. In that journal a creative outlet was established where I could express my love for the Lord, share my heart about my son’s illness, and update others about his condition.

I’m excited to start this new endeavor as a blogger, and I am glad you are taking this journey with me.

Blessings,

Kelly
